Research Articles
This section includes freely submitted contributions, with submissions open on a continuous basis. Articles should address topics related to transportation safety from a technical or scientific perspective, incorporating a systemic approach. The research must offer new insights, propose solutions, or explore emerging challenges in the transportation sector, focusing on improving safety and sustainability across different modes of transport.
Popular science
This section features works that interpret and make scientific knowledge accessible to the general public. These articles aim to communicate complex transportation safety topics in a way that is understandable and engaging. Contributions can take various formats, including interviews with key figures in the sector, opinion pieces, book reviews, announcements, or reports on events related to transportation. The goal is to bridge the gap between technical knowledge and public awareness, promoting a deeper understanding of operational safety.
Dossier
Each issue of the RSO focuses on a central theme, chosen based on both local and international contexts. The thematic dossier aims to explore in-depth key issues that are highly relevant to the community of researchers, service providers, users, and transportation operators. The articles included in this section provide a comprehensive analysis of the selected theme, addressing current challenges, emerging trends, and innovative solutions. The dossier seeks to foster debate and contribute to the development of transportation safety from multiple perspectives.
Cross-cutting Issues
This section disseminates articles addressing issues that have a transversal impact on transportation in its various dimensions. While these topics may not strictly fall under the label of operational safety, they are of significant and ongoing relevance for professionals and researchers in the transportation sector. These issues often intersect with other fields such as environmental concerns, technological advancements, regulatory challenges, and socio-economic factors, all of which affect the safety and sustainability of transportation systems.
