Abstract

The purpose of this document is to design an analysis methodology for the weighting of risk factors in aeronautical events. By means of a statistical approach, a list of categories of events will be generated according to the level of risk, considering both the frequency of occurrence and the severity of the consequences suffered by the personnel and the materials involved. Since most air operations in Argentina are carried out in uncontrolled aerodromes, it is not feasible to evaluate indicators based on the number of takeoffs and landings, therefore, it was decided to perform the recurrence analysis as a function of the events recorded by category and the number of events. Based on this, the proposed methodology seeks to weight the categories of events according to their risk assessment, allowing to guide reactive lines of investigation and, at the same, time contribute proactively to the prevention of future accidents and incidents, strengthening operational safety. This methodology will be applied to events in agroaircraft work operations in Argentina during the period 2013-2022. The data were obtained from the ADREP/ECCAIRS system of the Institutional Repository of the Transportation Safety Board (JST). As results of the application of the proposed methodology, the annual evolution of the occurrences will be presented, highlighting the categories with the highest weighted risk for the type of operations under study.
