Abstract
Improving safety in transport aviation in recent decades requires continuous evaluation of existing processes to identify areas for improvement in accident prevention, understanding of causes, and rectification measures. This article analyzes the link between certification processes and operation and maintenance activities. In doing so, two case studies will be presented that illustrate the issues and provide a glimpse of the different dimensions at play.
