Abstract
This interview was planned by the research team of the Environmental Safety in Transportation Area (ASAT, spanish acronym) of the Junta de Seguridad en el Transporte (JST [Transportation Safety Board of Argentina]). The interviewer is Claudio González, from the Buenos Aires Province Police, Directorate of Ecological Prevention and Hazardous Substances. The purpose of this work is to inquire about the procedures and particularities of accidents and incidents involving hazardous substances that have a negative environmental impact.
One of the main functions of the Directorate of Ecological Prevention and Hazardous Substances is to deal with accidents and risky activities, as well as to act in situations involving hazardous substances. This interview takes place within the framework of a policy aimed at linking the JST with other public and private sector agencies involved in operational safety.
