Tank Cars for Methanol Transport on Argentine Railways and Safety Regulations

Abstract

The article details the inspections carried out on Ferrosur Roca S.A.'s tank wagons, adapted for methanol transport in Argentina, following CNRT protocols. Technical and safety aspects were evaluated, such as bogies, braking systems and crash and traction devices. Certificates of qualification and compliance with international standards such as RID and Mercosur were also verified. These inspections guarantee structural integrity and operational safety, minimising environmental and public health risks. In addition, the importance of regular maintenance and overhaul of wagons is highlighted to prevent incidents and ensure public confidence in rail transport.
