Abstract
This paper stresses the importance of planning and training of emergency managers, as well as inter-agency collaboration and the dissemination of accurate and timely information to maintain the credibility of the authorities and reassure the public. In short, preparedness, effective communication and collaboration are essential to ensure the safety of people and the environment in emergency situations involving the transport of dangerous goods by road.
